Good or bad for baseball?

I think its good for baseball. I mean look what happened last year with the Red Sox. They could have gotten in last year had it not been for that last playoff spot. Now with the new rule in place, if they have the end of the season like that again they can still make the playoffs. Also it gives teams that were close to getting in an actual chance to make it in.
