Another strong pitching and defensive performance by the Yoemen in the game with Rogers. The Yoemen LHP, Harrell, pitched a complete game shutout. He was able to mix his pitches well and did not walk many. Even though we were only able to scratch two across, we hit ball the on the screws tonight often, but they did not always find the wholes. The Rogers pitcher threw a solid game. Not and overpowering type, but he mixed and located his pitches well.

I have created a new Twitter account to keep up with scores & standings. I will be traveling to Troy tonight for the game with #2 Franklin. You can keep up with inning by inning updates: www.twitter.com/lonestarprep1This should create quite a few followers and help in membership during the football off-season.

Troy: 2 #2 Franklin: 0
Great pitching dual in this one. Overall though, I thought Troy played better baseball in every aspect. The Trojans were able to have better at bats, they had the better defense, and they had a touch better pitching. The LHP from Troy was dealing all night. He was able to get all of his pitches over and he had a well above average fastball and nasty curve to back it up. I do believe that he could have had a no-hitter depending on what the scorekeeper ruled a relatively difficult play. Other than that, Franklin had no success at the plate. The Franklin pitcher also had a great outing. His defense let him down a bit in the 3rd. An error led to a couple unearned runs(1 probably would have scored on a double and long single). Troy should be in the top 10 the next go around.

Florence: 2 Cameron Yoe: 1
On our part, that was just not a good enough to get a win. Ever since the start of district we have been less and less productive with the bats, today with just 2 or 3 hits. I am actually kind of baffled by this. I was telling FlorenceBuffs how is non-district we were really starting to put it together offensively, against some decent 3A clubs. Florence played a solid game. They had the bases loaded 3 times in a row and could not get one in, but they managed 1 the 4th go around in the 6th. In the 7th they got a lead-off walk followed by a steal?, wild pitch, and a base hit to win it.
