Academy, Florence, Rogers, and Thorndale are all basically in must-win situations tonight. The only team that controls their destiny is Rogers. If they were to win out, the worst they could do is finish tied for 3rd. Academy needs Lexington to lose at least one game(assuming they win out) and Florence & Thorndale need a couple of other things to happen to get to that point....should be an interesting night of baseball.

Right now Academy, Rogers, and Thorndale still have a shot. If Lexington were to win 1 more game they would at least clinch 3rd. Cameron Yoe has already clinched a playoff spot as we cannot have more than a total of 6 loses(2 games remaining).
Remaining Schedules for 3rd & 4th place teams:
Lexington: Vs. Thorndale @ Florence
Thorndale: @ Lexington Vs. Jarrell
Academy: @ Cameron Yoe Vs. Rogers
Rogers: Vs. Florence @ Academy
In the end, I see Lexington taking the 3rd spot. I think Academy has the best chance of catching them, but of course, they have to have a lot happen. They have two victories over Lexington, but have lost to Thorndale twice and to Lago Vista. Rogers would need Thorndale to win their last two regardless because they have already lost to Lexington twice, so Lexington would advance either way if it were just 2 teams.

Our offense once again showed up nicely against Florence last night. I'm pretty sure we had over 10 hits on the night, which came along with some timely hitting. Our starting pitcher, Harrell went three and two-thirds. He did not give up a run, but just did not have his control down. Evan came in and finished out the rest of the game. I give credit to Florence, they never quit. They hit the ball well a couple of innings and played good ball for the most part. Both teams had an error that cost them a couple of runs, but overall it was a cleanly played game.

The key game tonight is Thorndale/Lexington. Thorndale must win for them, Academy, and Rogers to even have a shot at making it in. Jarrell should be able to take care of Lago Vista. We need to win to get one step closer to clinching the 2nd spot. I do believe that Florence & Rogers will be much closer this go around.

Another solid performance by the Yoemen tonight. Key hits, combined with patient at-bats really led to our success. Academy did have some errors that hurt them, but we had to take advantage of them, and we did. We need to continue this play as we move on to finish out district Monday and with our warm-up game with Franklin(beat #5 Troy tonight 6-0). I will be heading to Hallettsville tomorrow to watch a double header between Hallettsville and 3A Columbus. In terms of playoff positioning, 2nd and 3rd place are the only thing not locked. If we were to lose to Lago Vista and Lexington were to defeat Florence, then there would be a tie-breaker game to decide who gets 2nd and who gets 3rd. Any other way, it remains the same.

Another good performance by Cameron tonight in the win over Lago. We got the hits we needed and got some younger and senior players some playing time in the process. Platz from Lago Vista has a pretty good arm. Not sure what grade he is in, but he throws in the lower to mid 80s range and has a pretty good curve to back it up.
Next up warm-up games:
Cameron Yoe Vs. Fayetteville @ La Grange Fairgrounds - 6:00 - Friday - April 27th @ Franklin 11:00 - Saturday - April 28th

Cameron Yoe 9, Fayetteville 2
We just started this game off too flat. Offensively we were putting the ball in play, but with no authority behind it. Finally started to pick things up in the last few innings with the bats and ended up with 11 or 12 hits. I'll be interested to see what we can do with Franklin tomorrow.
